Does Bishop Gorman offer scholarships?
Bishop Gorman offers only need-based tuition assistance, not academic or athletic scholarships.  A student must be registered at Bishop Gorman before financial assistance is considered. All funds are distributed in the form of need-based financial assistance.  The school allocates approximately $150,000 per year in financial assistance.  Most financial aid is awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis with initial application due February 28.  Most financial assistance is awarded by June each year.

How is financial aid calculated?
The Financial Committee takes into consideration the needs analysis for each family as provided by PSAS, an independent analysis company, the resources of the family and individual circumstances, as well as the availability of financial aid funds when making the final determination of financial aid awards.  Criteria on which PSAS determines a family's need for assistance are:

  • family's income
  • family's assets
  • family's liabilities
  • unusual expenses
  • family size
  • retirement needs
  • number of children attending tuition-charging schools

The school uses a waiting pool at various grade levels when the class has reached capacity.  A waiting pool differs from a waiting list in the sense that the school may pull applicants from the pool as appropriate for the school needs.
