Welcome to the Bishop Gorman Band program. Band consists of Beginning Band, Middle School Band the Mighty Crusader High School Band.

Sixth grade begins in the fall with students participating in six weeks each of Art, Band, and Choir Exploratory. Students spend six weeks in each class deciding which class they will be in for the remaining of their Middle School and hopefully High School career. Beginning Band starts in January when students will acquire an instrument and learn to play it as a part of their classroom instruction. They will participate in a Spring Concert late in the school year.

The Middle School Band is made up of seventh and eighth grade students and participates in local concerts during school, a High School football game, the Tyler Rose Parade, the Tyler Jaycees Christmas Parade, Christmas Concert, Solo & Ensemble Competition, Concert/Sight-Reading contest, and the Spring Concert.

The Mighty Crusader High School Band performs at all of the home football games as well as the Tyler Rose Parade, Tyler Jaycees Christmas Parade, All-Region/All-State Band try-outs, Christmas Concert, Solo & Ensemble Competition, TAPPS Concert/Sight-Reading and Jazz competition, the Spring Concert, and other local concerts. Students from Gorman have earned places in the Private Schools All-State Band, the ATSSB All- State Band, 1st Divisions at the State TAPPS Solo & Ensemble Competition, 1st Division ratings at Jazz Band, Concert & Sight-Reading competition as well as earning the TAPPS Sweepstakes Award (1st Division in Concert & Sight-Reading competition together).
