Manners Matter in Middle School
Join our fun etiquette class designed to help students navigate a variety of situations that occur in a middle school student’s everyday life. From cafeteria etiquette to digital decorum, students will practice skills through role-playing and test their manners with a delicious meal during the last class.
Brother Against Brother - Civil War
This class will cover the history of the Civil War. Activities will include discussions of events and battles, military games, video presentations, learning battlefield tactics, and field trips. The class will conclude with an overnight trip to Vicksburg.
Book Clubs will feature the assigned summer reading books for students at each grade level 6th – 12th grades. Classes will help students build analytical skills, as well as begin or complete assignments related to their assigned summer reading. The book is included in the registration fee.
Creative Writing Workshop
Students will develop creative writing pieces for the Scholastic Writing Contest. Entry types found at artandwriting.org
College Essay Workshop
Seniors & Juniors: Want to get your college essays finished early? Come to this week-long class and get guidance from both a
writing and advising perspective.
Students will learn Trout Fishing history, techniques, and fishing strategies. Includes a three day and two-night camping and fishing to Beavers Bend, Oklahoma.
College Level Examination Program for incoming 11th & 12th graders! This class will prepare you to not only study for the exam but will help you sign up and take the test after the study class. You can earn college credits with motivation, study, and practice! Bring your brain & let’s train! American Literature, College Algebra I, English 1302, and more.
STRONGLY encouraged for 6th-7th graders. Students will review basic skills, practice word problems, learn NEW Math skills, practice short cut methods, PLAY Math games, strengthen foundations, and more! Need to bring: pencils/paper/composition book for notes & snacks/water.
Math Mania: Algebra!
STRONGLY encouraged for 8th-9th graders entering Pre-algebra and Algebra I. Students will review basic skills, practice word problems & short cut methods, learn NEW Math skills, PLAY Math games, strengthen foundations, and more as they prepare for Algebra! Need to bring: pencils/paper/composition book and snacks/water.
