Welcome to St. Gregory
St. Gregory Cathedral School is accredited by the Texas Catholic Conference Accreditation Commission and recognized by the Texas Education Agency. It is the only three-time U.S. Department of Education Blue Ribbon School in East Texas.
St. Gregory serves students in PK-3 through 5th grade. The school offers full-time Pre-Kindergarten programs for 3 and 4 year olds as well as M-W-F options.

Admissions at St. Gregory is rolling and proceeds according to the following sequence:
Step 1: Inquire and Visit
Step 2: Apply
St. Gregory uses an online management system called FACTS for the admissions process. Please create a FACTS account and apply online. Please note there is a non-refundable $50 application fee for each application submitted (which includes a $20 FACTS fee).
Copies of birth certificate, immunization records, and sacramental records (for Catholic applicants) can be uploaded into the system or brought to the school.
Step 3: Release Records
For students in K - 5th grade, print the Records Release Form, complete it, and deliver it to your child’s current school.
Step 4: Interview
After St. Gregory receives your child’s records from his/her current school, a Family Interview will be scheduled with the principal or the assistant principal.
Step 5: Notification
Notification of Admissions decision mailed to the applicant.
Step 6: Register
Accepted applicants complete enrollment through their FACTS Family Portal account. Please note there is a non-refundable registration fee of $300.
Tuition assistance is available for families who demonstrate financial need by submitting an application to FACTS. The priority deadline to apply for tuition assistance is February 28, 2021. Applications submitted after that date will be reviewed and awards will be based on the amount of assistance funds remaining.
The application process for tuition assistance is separate from the admissions process. New families may begin the tuition assistance process before the official notification of their student's acceptance. However, families must first submit the school application and application fee and be accepted to Bishop Gorman before they will hear back from the Tuition Assistance Committee on their potential award. Returning families must reapply for tuition assistance through FACTS each year.
St. Gregory admits students of all racial, ethnic, and religious backgrounds.
St. Gregory may use the following criteria in making admissions decisions, when applicable:
- Current school record
- Standardized testing
- Student's academic potential
- Student's discipline record
PK3: Child must be 3 years old on or before September 1st.
PK4: Child must be 4 years old on or before September 1st.
Kindergarten: Child must be 5 years old on or before September 1st.
First grade: Child must be 6 years old on or before September 1st.
