Altra Foundation Scholarships
Altra Federal Credit Union believes being a good community member means giving something back. That’s why we’ve established a foundation that offers scholarships to reward young members with a demonstrated history of community involvement. The Altra Foundation has been granting scholarships since 2004. Application coming soon.
Austin Bank Scholarship
Austin Bank has provided financial services to East Texas since 1900. In keeping with their tradition of community service and a commitment to education, Austin Bank established an educational scholarship to assist high school graduates in continuing their education at a university, college, trade or vocational school. A minimum of thirty-six scholarships will be awarded, with nine in the amount of $2,500 and 27 for $500. Applications are due February 20, 2026.
The Austin Bank scholarship funds are for one year only and are not renewable.
Champion Scholarship Award Program
The Champion Energy Scholarship Program is back for its 12th year and is now accepting applications through March 31, 2026! Champion Energy will award three scholarships: $5,000, $3,000, and $2,000. Online applications are due March 31, 2026.
Cherokee County Electric Cooperative Scholarship
CCECA will award twenty eligible graduating Texas high school seniors, current college and technical school attendees with a Scholarship of Excellence for academics. Each scholarship is worth $1,000 and is intended for Texas students who will pursue a bachelor’s degree at a university, college, community college, junior college, or trade school. Your parents must be an active member and currently receiving electric service from Cherokee County Electric Cooperative. Applications are due February 27, 2026
East Texas Communities Foundation Scholarship
The East Texas Communities Foundation administers 110 diverse scholarships that have been established by generous individuals to assist students with their educational pursuits. Each scholarship expresses a deep belief in the power of education to help young people achieve their dreams. Applications open January 1, 2026 and are due March 1, 2026.
Hagan Scholarship
The Hagan Scholarship is a nationwide need-based merit scholarship for goal driven students in the high school graduating class. Parents 2024 Adjusted Gross Household Income must not have exceeded $125,000. Applications are due March 15, 2026.
Horatio Alger Scholarship
The Horatio Alger Association administers over 70 scholarship programs, offering opportunities for students with demonstrated financial need ($100,000 or lower adjusted gross family income) in various stages of their academic careers to achieve their educational goals and realize their potential. Applications are due March 1, 2026.
Juneteenth Association of Tyler Scholarship
The Juneteenth Association of Tyler awards 15 scholarship to East Texas High School Students. Recipients are recognized for academics, leadership, and community service . Applications are due April 4, 2026.
Knights of Columbus Needs-Based Educational Grant Program
Graduating seniors in a Catholic High School, or a graduate of a Catholic High School in Texas, is eligible to apply for an Educational Grant program when sponsored by a local Council in Texas – even when the student’s parent or grandparent is not a Knight. All applicants must be at least a high school senior who will be graduating, a high school graduate, or college or technical school student, or seminary student, or enrolling in other advanced training. Applications are due March 1, 2026.
Men's College Scholarship Program
This scholarship is designed to identify and reward outstanding high school seniors who have demonstrated an ability to excel in the fields of academics, extra-curricular school activities, and community involvement. The scholarship is available to any male, graduating senior from an accredited high school who is enrolling in a four-year undergraduate college program that commences in the fall. The scholarship is awarded through the Foundation for Fraternal Excellence, a registered 501(c)3 organization. Current or future membership in a fraternity is not required. Applications are due April 1, 2026.
Newman Guide Scholarship Contest
This scholarship seeks to award one lucky recipient (a junior or senior) a scholarship at a Newman Guide Recommended college. No essay required. Students must submit a short statement (3-5 sentences) explaining their interest in a faithful Catholic education and formation at a Newman Guide Recommended college. Applications are due February 17, 2026 and are open to high school juniors and seniors.
Peltier Teacher's Scholarship
Each year, Robert Peltier awards fifty (50) individuals with the Peltier Teacher’s Scholarship Program to outstanding students across East Texas. The scholarship is available to any East Texas student that is graduating high school or currently enrolled in college as an undergraduate. Additionally, the student must have a parent that is an educator (teachers, administrators, or paraprofessional). These fifty (50) scholarships will be given out annually to help families offset the cost of tuition, fees, books, room, and board. Apply by April 15, 2026. Parents of students must “Like” on any one of their three (5) Facebook Pages. “Likes” will be verified in order for Student’s application to be considered complete.
Pinkk Ribbons Fight Scholarship
The Pinkk Ribbons Fight Scholarship is designed for high school juniors and seniors in Texas who have been personally affected by breast cancer. This scholarship supports individuals who have experienced the impact of breast cancer in their lives or in the lives of those close to them. Application usually opens in spring.
QuestBridge
QuestBridge is a nationally recognized nonprofit organization that connects academically outstanding students from low-income backgrounds with opportunities at top colleges.
The QuestBridge path to college begins with the College Prep Scholars Program, which helps high school juniors become strong applicants to top colleges. In their senior year, students can apply to the National College Match, an admissions process that connects students with admission and full four-year scholarships or generous financial aid at QuestBridge’s college partners.
Students admitted to a college partner through the National College Match join the QuestBridge Scholars Network, which provides them with engagement opportunities and a supportive community on campus and nationwide. After graduation, the QuestBridge Alumni Association provides additional opportunities to support students to achieve success in their careers and communities.
Right to Life of East Texas Scholarship
Right to Life of East Texas sponsors a spring Essay Contest. Applications are due February 1, 2026.
Society of Petroleum Engineers Scholarship
Each spring the East Texas Section of the Society of Petroleum Engineers awards scholarships to graduating high school seniors who plan on majoring in petroleum engineering, mechanical engineering, or chemical engineering at an accredited four-year university. Applications usually open in March and are due in May.
Stonewater Roofing Scholarship
Each spring Stonewater Roofing gives away scholarships to graduating seniors who plan on furthering their education after high school. Students submit a video to enter the contest. The scholarship contest usually runs from mid-January to April.
TJC Promise
The TJC Promise Program is a six-year, comprehensive program that spans from 9th grade through the first two years of college. The TJC Promise encourages students within the TJC tax district to perform well academically in high school and college, while limiting the number of missed school days and promoting community service.
Students who fulfill the Promise requirements receive support and encouragement to obtain a college degree or certificate from TJC. The TJC Promise Program covers tuition and fees for up to two years through a combination of federal grants, TJC Scholarships, and the TJC Promise.
Texas Bank and Trust
The Texas Bank and Trust “Excellence in Education” Scholarship is an annual program that awards 10 high school seniors planning to major in Finance, Business, or Entrepreneurship (who live in the TBT service area) with a $1,000 scholarship that can be used at the institution of their choice. The scholarship opportunity is open to students in public, private, and home-school programs. Applications are due March 1st.
Tyler Area Association of Legal Professionals Scholarship
The Tyler Area Association of Legal Professionals provides four (4) cash scholarships each year to applicants enrolled in or intending to enroll in a field of study related to the legal profession. Applications usually open in February and are due in April.
United Heritage Charity Foundation Scholarship
The United Heritage Charity Foundation awards two H. Ralph Wilburn Memorial Scholarships. Each winner will be awarded $10,000 to help fund their college education starting this fall. Deadline to apply: March 31, 2026.
Upshur Rural Electric Cooperative Corporation Scholarship
One of the best investments a community can make is in education. Each spring, Upshur Rural Electric awards scholarships to graduating seniors living at the residence of their parents or legal guardians who are active member-owners of URECC. Applications usually open in February and are due in April.
CHRISTUS Health Women with Heart Scholarship Contest
Submit a short video to enter a scholarship contest to bring awareness to our community about women's heart health. Video submission deadline is January 30, 2026.
