A two-year letterman for UT, Layne was named the Mizuno Collegiate Player of the Week, and finished his career seventh in UT season records with 74 runs batted in and 10th on the season records with 13 home runs.
Layne signed to play professional baseball with the Kansas City Royals organization. The first baseman was named to the 1997 Midwest League All-Star Game and followed that with a selection to the 1998 Carolina League All-Star Game. He currently is a Physician Assistant in Tyler, working with Azalea Orthopedics.

After a successful first half at the middle school football game, BG alumnus Lucas Vega ('19) encouraged the Crusaders to "keep your foot on the gas." And they did! What a blessing for our current students to interact with and be mentored by our enthusiastic alumni!

Some of our amazing seniors spent the day at UT Tyler's Top 25% Celebration where they enjoyed a campus tour, lunch, and more. We love for our BG scholars to be recognized for their hard work!

Would you risk your life to save a book? This question was posed to our BG student journalists at The Book Smugglers exhibit at the Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum where they learned about the role of the Paper Brigade in rescuing rare books, manuscripts, and works of art from the Nazis during World War II.

The 4th Annual Lady Crusader Garage sale is this weekend, and we are looking for donations, volunteers, and customers! The Garage sale is 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. today and 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. There is also a free car wash on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Go Gorman, Go Gorman, Go! Thank you to the CRU Nation for showing up in full force to support our athletes! #BGCru

As we welcome cooler temperatures and changing leaves, let us remember the grass withers, the flower wilts, but the word of our God stands forever. Isaiah 40:8

Dr. Stewart's AP and Honors English Literature and Composition classes read several primary texts for summer reading, including Homer's Iliad. Students were invited to submit creative projects based on the epic, which resulted in video reenactments, golden apples, and homemade pitas and hummus!

BG junior girls spent Saturday morning painting pavilions at the Tyler Senior Center for Park Cleanup Day! #mercyinmotion

Join us for Senior Night at tomorrow's football game! Our senior football players, cheerleaders, and cross country runners will be recognized at 6:30 p.m. before our home game against Pantego Christian. Go Cru!

Congratulations to All-Montgomery County Coach of the Year Tanner Field (Class of 2000)!

Therefore encourage one another and build one another up (1 Thessalonians 5:11). Thank you to our awesome BG cheerleaders for doing just that!

#ThrowbackThursday On this, the anniversary of the opening of our school on September 2, 1958, we remember the men and women who answered the call to build a Catholic high school in Tyler. Their generous dedication and donations to the successful campaign have enabled thousands of East Texas students to receive an exemplary education grounded in the teachings of the Catholic church. For each and every one of them, the Crusader community is profoundly grateful. #TBT

Join the Men of Gorman in prayer each Friday!

#ThrowbackThursday We've got spirit, yes we do! The styles may have changed, but our Crusader spirit remains the same. Do any of these cheerleaders look familiar to you? Tag them below! #TBT

The Bishop Gorman football game scheduled for Friday against Northland Christian has been canceled.

Today Bishop Strickland celebrated our first all school Mass at the Chapel of Sts. Peter and Paul. What a blessing it was to gather together to worship and pray and to be reminded that Jesus is the Cornerstone.
