NAISMITH HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL COURAGE AWARD - DELANEY DOUGLAS - Senior Delaney Douglas has been named the Bishop Gorman recipient of the "Naismith High School Courage Award", sponsored by Jersey Mike's SUBS. The award is given to one player at every high school in the country, with the winner being a player who has shown a high level of courage, both on and off the court. Douglas, one of the top defensive players on the Bishop Gorman squad has played all year with a serious injury. A fractured fibula injured during volleyball season has been painful, but Douglas has not missed a game or practice all season. "The commitment and effort Delaney has shown this season is beyond impressive;" said Crusaders head coach Jon Froelich. "She has helped our program become a winning program, and her courage to play with a serious injury is a credit to her character." Douglas is now in the running for national honors with this program.
