Bishop Thomas K. Gorman Catholic School in Tyler will induct nine former Crusaders (and one team) into their inaugural "Hall of Fame Class" on October 2. Bishop Gorman is proud and honored to announce Billy Paul Chrietzberg will be one of the members of the inaugural class. Chrietzberg is the first individual to be honored as a special contributor in the Hall of Fame. Billy Paul Chrietzberg was very involved with St. Gregory and Bishop Thomas K. Gorman Catholic from 1961 through 1983. We lost a great man when he passed away in 1983 from a heart attack at the age of 53. In his 20 plus years of service he held multiple positions with the Booster Club, including President. He was very instrumental in many projects during the early stages of the high school, helping to build the track and baseball diamond. He was instrumental in fundraising and the building of these facilities. He was a team player, who motivated other parents and families to give of their time and energy to support the Tyler Catholic Schools. A true example of a Servants Heart, his proudest moments were watching students excelling in their respective school activities. Billy Paul Chrietzberg had three children graduate from Gorman. Michael (1972), Judith (1973), and David (1977). Please join us on October 2 to recognize and honor Billy Paul Chrietzberg, his family, and all members of the Bishop Gorman 2020 Hall of Fame Class. Activities will include the Hall of Fame Luncheon to be held at Rick's on the Square at 11:30 a.m. Tickets for the luncheon will go on sale after Labor Day. A ceremony prior to the Homecoming football game that evening will also honor the inductees. The Hall of Fame plaques will be on display in the Broadnax Family Crusader Center.
